Dart Atlantic 75 leaves on her first shout.
The Falmouth Coastguard requested the Dart RNLI Atlantic 75 to attend a 23 ft. Angling boat with two on board. They had been fishing on the Skerries bank, some five miles from Dartmouth, and their engine would not function. The Dart shore crew volunteers took the First Aid kit, VHF radios and a bag containing extra lifejackets down the pontoon to the Aquadock, closely followed by the lifeboat crew who prepared the boat and launched. The launch time was very similar to the time it would have taken to launch the Dart D class using a tractor.
The angling boat was quickly identified and the lifeboat crew could see that they had a line around their propeller. The Atlantic 75 was able to tow the boat back at nine knots, against the tide, and took her to Noss Marina where a crane immediately lifted the casualty vessel out of the water to sort out the problem.
