The Coastguard tasked the RNLI Dart inshore lifeboat to aid a 20 ft Hurley yacht attempting to sail from Dawlish to Plymouth. The shrouds had reportedly broken and they had no engine power. They were found pinned to the lee shore 80 yards south of Bayards Fort. There were 2 adult males on board. The yacht was recovered and towed to the Town Quay jetty.
