The RNLI Dart inshore lifeboat was tasked by Solent coastguard to assist 2 yachtsmen on board a 37 foot Jeanneau yacht with engine failure due to contaminated fuel. They were on passage to Salcombe and then onward to France. The crew asked them to sail to the entrance of the Dart and they were then given an alongside tow to the Darthaven Marina. The lifeboat had radioed ahead to be recovered when they were contacted on Channel 16 by a fisherman requesting assistance. Please see next launch.
