42ft yacht with loss of power in F 6 gusting 7

A 42 ft yacht with three men on board requested help due to loss of engine power. They were able to sail into the Bight, where they lowered their sails and were taken in tow by the Dartmouth D class inshore lifeboat. They were secured alongside the Town Quay. The call out was noteworthy because of the torrential rain, the strength of the wind from the S East and the size of the yacht. Lifeboat crew. Kevin Murphy, helmsman. Visitor Centre opening hours

The shop is now open from 11am to 3pm. on Monday, Thursday and Saturday and from 11am to 1pm on Tuesday and Wednesdays. After closing on Saturday 4 December the VC will be closed until the start of half term week in Feb 2022.
