Call to Shetland dayboat after engine fire

Location: Near Western Blackstone. Start Bay.

As the crew were returning from their previous incident they were hailed by two sailors on a 16ft. Shetland dayboat. They had had a fire in their outboard which had immobilised the engine. The fire was out. The lifeboat informed the Coast Guard and were advised to tow the craft back to Dartmouth harbour. Lifeboat crew. Helmsman Tony Chapman. Crewmen Lee Darch and Al Duffy. Launch crew. Jim Brent, Jerry Gilby, Yorkie Lomas and Dai Richards.

Visitor Centre opening hours

The shop is now open from 11am to 3pm. on Monday, Thursday and Saturday and from 11am to 1pm on Tuesday and Wednesdays. After closing on Saturday 4 December the VC will be closed until the start of half term week in Feb 2022.
