Launches
Dart RNLI were tasked to a male who had come a cropper whilst standing at the bow of a speed boat. The boat hit a wave, sending the casualty flying into the metal railings and sustaining injuries to his upper arm and shoulder. The boat's skipper made for the closest port in order for help to be given. The RNLI Casualty Care Team - along with our very own Paramedic raced to the scene. They found the casualty lying prone in the boat and clearly in a great deal of pain. The casualty was stabilised and given Nitrous Oxide (Entonox), to help with the pain, and then with the help of the coastguard was stretchered away from the boat and up into the Yacht Club where he could be made more comfortable whilst waiting for the ambulance service to evacuate him to hospital.
