EPIRB activated on yacht. False alarm.

Location: Noss Marina. River Dart.

The Coastguard were alerted by the activation of an Emergency Position Indicating Radio Beacon (EPIRB) and requested that the ILB attend. The boat, Skycatcher, was on a pontoon at the Noss Marina and was unattended. The beacon was below decks in a sealed box and there was no visible reason why it should have activated. The information was transferred to a member of the Marina staff who would contact the owner.
