Emergency flashing beacon reported to be floating in the Harbour

Launch No: 323
Wednesday, 22 November 2017
Location: Dartmouth Harbour

The Higher Ferry reported that an emergency light buoy had drifted across its path as it returned to the Dartmouth shore and assumed that there could have been someone in the water.

The lifeboat was launched and quickly found the Perry buoy. They established that it had come from a lifebuoy and found it floating close by. When they had searched the area and found no one they returned the buoy to its parent vessel. The buoy had been hanging on the outside of the craft and torn off by the current high winds.
