Launches
The Torbay RNLI lifeboat had been tasked to the decomissioned 80 ft fishing boat Theresa at 18:04 yesterday evening. The vessel had engine failure and was towed from two miles East of Start Point and taken to one of the main stream buoys in Dartmouth harbour. This morning a DHNA patrol observed that the vessel was sinking and the Coast guard requested the Dart inshore lifeboat crew, who were already afloat on exercise, to search the vessel for anyone on board and to act as a safety boat whilst the DHNA vessel Hercules moved the boat alongside the South Embankment where it was in shallower water and out of the main stream.
