Kayaker requiring assistance in Totnes Weir

The RNLI Dart lifeboat was diverted by Falmouth Coastguard whilst on training, to assist a kayaker who had gone over the weir at Totnes. The fire brigade, ambulance and the coastguard team were also sent to assist. The kayaker managed to self rescue and swim ashore, but injured himself in the process. 

The Dart lifeboat was stood down as it reached the Flat Owers at Dittisham.

Visitor Centre opening hours

The shop is now open from 11am to 3pm. on Monday, Thursday and Saturday and from 11am to 1pm on Tuesday and Wednesdays. After closing on Saturday 4 December the VC will be closed until the start of half term week in Feb 2022.
