A person was reported to be in the water near the Town Quay pontoon when cries for help were heard coming from that direction. The RNLI Dart Inshore Lifeboat was tasked by the Coastguard to attend and launched in six minutes. On arrival at the scene it was established that the casualty was a fisherman who had tried to make his way back to his vessel but had given up the attempt and climbed onto the pontoon and shouted for help. He had been taken ashore by another vessel. The lifeboat crew recovered the tender and returned it to its mooring. The casualty was then taken safely to his vessel.
