Dart lifeboat launched at the request of the Coastguard to a 33 ft Fairmile motor cruiser in danger of sinking. It was logged as a training exercise as no lives were at risk. The owner and his wife had returned by tender to their boat to find the engine compartment flooded and the boat to be sinking. The lifeboat crew decided to tow the boat from its swinging mooring to shallow water in Galmpton Creek as the tide was ebbing. The boat was lifted out later in the morning at Dartside Marina for investigation.
