The casualty was transferred from the yacht to the Dart lifeboat

Shortly before she was due to take part in RNLI Dart's demonstration for Dartmouth Regatta the Atlantic 75 lifeboat was tasked to attend a crewman who had a head injury following a fall onboard a yacht. The lifeboat reached the yacht with 10 onboard close to the Homestone buoy in the mouth of the River Dart. The casualty had already been given first aid and a lifeboatman was transferred onboard the yacht to continue medical monitoring. The yacht was initially directed by the Coastguard to the Passenger Ferry pontoon but the Ambulance was at the Darthaven Marina pontoon and the casualty was taken there in the lifeboat and handed into the care of the S W Ambulance service.
