Reports of flares leads to call out, but nothing found.

Launch No: 454
Craft: Norma Ethel Vinall. B-825

Location: Sharpham

Dart B825 lifeboat was called to the Sharpham area of the River Dart to investigate possible red flare launches. Once on scene the RNLI crew carried out an extensive search but found nothing out of the ordinary. It is suspected that it was fireworks being let off and a timely reminder that some fireworks do resemble flares so we would always advise you to check that any fireworks you buy and intend sending off close to the coast or rivers, do not resemble a distress flare.
