The Dart B class lifeboat was requested by the Coastguard to investigate an unmanned inflatable yacht tender in the shore surf just off the beach at Torcross. On arrival the tender had been washed ashore and due to heavy dumping sea on the beach it was decided that it was too unsafe to investigate close to shore. The lifeboat conducted a search of the area to look for anyone in trouble and found no one. The tender was presumed to have been washed from the beach. Dart lifeboat was then stood down and returned to station.
