Dory found drifting in strong winds and failing light

The National Coastwatch at Froward Point reported a dory adrift in Newfoundland Cove. A local yacht had been towing it when it broke adrift. They made repeated attempts to retrieve it without success. The Solent Coastguard requested the Dart inshore lifeboat to retrieve it as darkness was falling and a strong ebb tide was about to set in and it would be a danger to navigation. The lifeboat was able to attach a tow and having made contact with the owner took the dory to a Kingswear pontoon.
