The RNLI inshore lifeboat was tasked to join three mobile Search and Rescue Coastguard teams, the Police and a Police helicopter in a search for a missing person. At this time (20:45) the search is continuing in strong winds and heavy rain. The track of the lifeboat can be followed on www.marinetraffic.com The Torbay all weather RNLI lifeboat has been tasked to join the search. They will search the main river on their way up to the Anchor Stone beyond which they are limited by the depth of the water on a falling tide. They will be able to improve communications between the search parties. (21.45) ILB returned to station for a crew change, refuel and new batteries for the searchlight. Torbay ALB is currently in the deep water channel between Dittisham and Galmpton. (22.26) All the search teams were stood down when a body was revealed in the creek by the falling tide. 8/11/13 The missing person was later found to be a local resident who had suffered a heart attack as he was crossing the mud at low tide.
