Search for yachtsmen reported as overdue.

Launch No: 82
Craft: Spirit of the Dart. D-702
Friday, 27 August 2010
Location: Dartmouth Harbour

Requested by the Coastguard to check on a yacht to establish whether the occupants were on board. They had been reported as missing, having not kept an onshore appointment. The river was searched for their tender by the ILB, a Police Launch with an RNLI crewman also on board, the Mobile CG team and the police on shore. The ILB searched the river from the lower ferry to the castle on both sides of the river. The Police reported that they had been in contact with people answering the description of the missing people and that they had come ashore and loaded their inflatable into the back of their car. They were then identified on shore by one of the RNLI crew and the search was stood down.
