The 45ft yacht was towed to a berth in Dartmouth Harbour

HM Coastguard in Falmouth alerted the Dart DLA concerning a 45ft yacht with a single male onboard. Whilst on passage from Plymouth to Dartmouth the yacht suffered engine failure just east of the Skerries Bank buoy in Start Bay. He tried to sail on but was making little headway. There was no immediate danger to the skipper. He was fatigued however and communications between him and Falmouth CG were intermittent and faint. The Atlantic 85 was launched and successfully towed the yacht to the Deep Water Pontoon in Dart harbour.
