Speedboat under tow in Dartmouth harbour

The Coastguard tasked the RNLI Dart Atlantic 75 inshore lifeboat to a 16ft speedboat reported to be taking on water off Scabbacombe beach. There were two onboard. Their engine and fuel pump had failed and the boat started taking on water in the moderately choppy sea. A catamaran was standing by them and gave an accurate position. The lifeboat was launched and transferred a crewman to the vessel to provide communications.  Once under tow the situation stabilised and they were taken to the Dart Marina until they could again access their trailer.
