Dart crew were sent a unique pager alert. “Tree down on lifeboat station. Testing pagers. Did you receive this?” The alarm was raised at 7.30 this morning as 60mph gusts were recorded in Dartmouth harbour. A Pittosporum tree in full leaf had fallen from the bank above the station and was lying across the east end of the crew room. There was no internal damage to the building and the communication system was still functioning, although it will need attention.
