D-Class to the rescue

The Coastguard reported 2 people in the water at Blackness. The RNLI D Class was launched on the request of the Coastguard and the Launch Authority. The Coastguard informed the DLA that Dart Harbour had sent a boat and this stayed with the casualties until the D Class was on scene. A medical assessment took place, and no treatment was required. The casualties were handed over to the Dartmouth Coastguard S & R team, who were going to take them back to Totnes and issue warm blankets. The B Class was also launched to assist .

Visitor Centre opening hours

The shop is open from 26 April 2021 from 11am to 1pm. on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday and from 11am to 3pm on Wednesdays. It is hoped to extend these times again shortly.
