20 foot yacht adrift in 25 knot winds

The Coastguard tasked the RNLI Dart inshore lifeboat to aid a 20 ft Hurley yacht attempting to sail from Dawlish to Plymouth. The shrouds had reportedly broken and they had no engine power. They were found pinned to the lee shore 80 yards south of Bayards Fort. There were 2 adult males on board. The yacht was recovered and towed to the Town Quay jetty.

Visitor Centre opening hours

The shop is now open from 11am to 3pm. on Monday, Thursday and Saturday and from 11am to 1pm on Tuesday and Wednesdays. After closing on Saturday 4 December the VC will be closed until the start of half term week in Feb 2022.
