Launches
The Coastguard requested a launch to a couple who had swamped and damaged a 16ft Atlantic 500 Angling boat attempting to land at Forrest Cove. The lady was in need of medical assistance. The couple and their dog were transferred in the ILB to Blackpool Sands where they were landed with the assistance of the RNLI Lifeguards on the beach. The lady was treated by the West Country Ambulance Paramedic on the beach. Friends of the owner were trying to recover the boat back to its mooring in Dartmouth. The Paramedic, who is also on the lifeboat crew, the lifeguards and the lifeboat crew had all been involved in a full scale exercise on Blackpool Sands with an identical scenario fifteen days earlier.
