Automatic DSC "Urgency" call was false alarm

Launch No: 97
Craft: Spirit of the Dart. D-702
Sunday, 12 December 2010
Location: River Dart

Whilst the lifeboat was on the river training they received a call from the Coastguard asking them to investigate a vessel Celine which had sent out an automatic DSC "Urgency" sigal on it's VHF radio. The vessel was berthed on a pontoon at Noss Marina. She was unoccupied and locked up. There were no marina staff on site. The Coastguard is investigating with the owners how the call came to be transmitted.
