Coastguard request to attend a beam trawler

Falmouth Coastguard requested the RNLI Dart Atlantic 75 to launch to a 25m Beam Trawler 8 miles south of the River Dart. The crew were assembled. After discussion between the Deputy Launch Authority, the helm and Falmouth Coastguard it was agreed that this vessel was too large for our lifeboat to assist and we recommended the launch of either Salcombe of Torbay all weather lifeboats. As a result the Salcombe Tamar lifeboat initially attended, followed by the Severn lifeboat from Torbay.

Visitor Centre opening hours

The shop is now open from 11am to 3pm. on Monday, Thursday and Saturday and from 11am to 1pm on Tuesday and Wednesdays. After closing on Saturday 4 December the VC will be closed until the start of half term week in Feb 2022.
