Dinghy Capsizes throwing 4 people into the water, one injured

Launch No: 463
Craft: Dudley Jane. D-838
Sunday, 30 May 2021
Location: Forest Cove

Dart RNLI D-Class was tasked to recover 4 people who had capsized in their inflatable dinghy when a wave hit them close to the shore at Forest Cove. The volunteer crew assisted them to the beach and assessments were carried out on the injury sustained by one of the female members of the party. The decision was made to call in a helicopter to evacuate the casualty owing to the steep terrain to get from the beach to the road. All 4 were taken by helicopter to Stoke Fleming where they were handed over to the Coastguard and ambulance service. Dart D-Class stood by until all had been recovered.
