Engine fire in yacht 8.4 miles off shore

A 32 foot yacht with two on board called Solent Coastguard when they developed an engine fire. They gave their position as four miles east of Dartmouth. RNLI Dart inshore lifeboat located them sailing 8.4 miles ESE of Dartmouth and put a crewman on board to assess the situation. The fire was out. The RNLI Torbay all weather lifeboat arrived ten minutes later and took the yacht in tow to Brixham.

Visitor Centre opening hours

The shop is now open from 11am to 3pm. on Monday, Thursday and Saturday and from 11am to 1pm on Tuesday and Wednesdays. After closing on Saturday 4 December the VC will be closed until the start of half term week in Feb 2022.
