Late night launch to a submerged Kayak near Totnes

Launch No: 469
Craft: Dudley Jane. D-838
Monday, 5 July 2021
Location: Totnes

Dart D-Class Lifeboat was tasked to check out a semi-submerged kayak up near Totnes. The Volunteer crew made their way up river, located the kayak and towed it to the waiting coastguard team. The Coastguard team then tasked the crew to carry out a slow search on their return to station. Nothing was found and the crew returned to the boathouse at 0225am. As a follow up to this story, the owener of the kayak entered the RNLI shop in Dartmouth and asked whether anyone had found a kayak. So a happy ending all round!
