Launch to motor cruiser with rope round propeller

Launch No: 413
Craft: Dudley Jane. D-838
Tuesday, 1 October 2019
Location: Between Stoke Gabriel and Blackness Marine. River Dart

RNLI Dart D class lifeboat was tasked by the Coastguard to help a 21ft Fairline motor cruiser with engine failure. The boat with 2 adults onboard had set off from Totnes and the engine stopped upstream of Blackness Marine. The lifeboat crew established that the cause of the engine not turning was a rope around the propeller and this was cut free. The motor cruiser was towed to Blackness marine.
