RNLI Dart D class responds to call to a man overboard

A race official contacted Falmouth Coastguard to report that there was a person in the water from a yacht that might have hit Meg's Rock in Start Bay. The lifeboat proceeded to the scene at best possible speed and found no trace of the yacht. The 40ft yacht with nine onboard had performed a self rescue and did not realise that the Coastguard had been called. The lifeboat crew found the yacht already berthed in the Darthaven Marina. They established that all onboard were well and returned to the lifeboat station. The Coastguard received no follow up call from the original referrer to say that the yacht had left the area.
