Medevac of walker with ankle injury

Launch No: 460
Craft: Dudley Jane. D-838
Friday, 16 April 2021
Location: Stoke Point, near Stoke Gabriel.

The Coastguard requested the RNLI Dart D class lifeboat to transfer a walker with a fractured ankle on the beach at Stoke Point near Stoke Gabriel, to an ambulance at Greenway Quay. The Ambulance crew had treated her at the scene but considered it too far to carry her up a difficult route to the ambulance parked a considerable distance away.
The lifeboat crew handed the casualty over to the Berry head Coastguard team at Greenway Quay until the ambulance arrived.
