The RNLI volunteers need to be fully trained First Aiders and work hard to keep their competencies up to date. The Coastguard in Falmouth requested that the crew attend a person with medical problems on a yacht in the harbour. The casualty was brought to the lifeboat station to await the arrival of the Ambulance and was then treated  in the station by the Ambulance paramedic before onward transfer to Torbay Hospital.
