Merryfisher adrift off Redlap

Launch No: 135
Craft: Spirit of the Dart. D-702
Sunday, 9 October 2011
Location: Half a mile off Redlap Cove, Start Bay

Whilst on exercise the Dart lifeboat was tasked by the Coastguard to a 6.5 metre Merryfisher angling boat that had broken down half a mile off Redlap Cove with two on board. The vessel was taken in tow by the lifeboat and due to the wind and sea conditions the tow was then handed to the Dart Venturer pleasure boat that was also in the vicinity. The lifeboat retook the tow off Warfleet Creek in Dartmouth Harbour and towed the vessel to her berth in Darthaven. Lifeboat crew; Chris Tracey, helmsman and Kevin John with Matt Studd, crewmen. Launch crew; Mark Conroy.
