RNLI B-Class diverted from exercise to incident

Launch No: 470
Craft: Norma Ethel Vinall. B-825
Thursday, 8 July 2021
Location:

Whilst the B Class was on exercise it was tasked to check up on 2 persons believed to have beached their rib as they could not start the flooded engine. When they got there one person was holding the boat in the surf and the other person was on the beach. The B Class stayed on scene until they were both safe on the beach and in the knowledge that the Coastguard was on its way. The DLA paged for a crew assemble for the D Class to assist if a beach recovery became necessary. The D Class was stood down when informed by the B-Class that they were leaving the scene with no further action.
