Rib suffers engine failure whilst inspecting RDYC Racing Marker

Launch No: 462
Craft: Norma Ethel Vinall. B-825
Sunday, 2 May 2021

Dart RNLI were just back from their Sunday morning training session when they were alerted to a RIB in trouble with engine failure out near the Homestone. Dart RNLI's B-Class crew were still in the lifeboat station so leaped into action and went off to assess the situation. The sped to the location given but could not see the stricken vessel. The vessel had also suffered radio failure so they could not get in touch to locate it. However, after a very brief search they located it with two persons onboard near the Mewstone. The volunteer crew established a tow and brought it into the river before handing it over to Dart Harbour Authority.
