Launch No: 474
Craft: Norma Ethel Vinall. B-825
Friday, 6 August 2021
Location: A quarter of a mile off cliffs east of Blackpool Sands

A member of the public reported to the coastguard that two youths were in the water beside their kayak, a quarter of a mile off the cliffs, east of Blackpool Sands.
The Dart RNLI  B class inshore lifeboat was tasked to find and rescue them. The were quickly found visually in the position given. They had in fact not been in the water and were wearing lifejackets although they were very wet from the choppy sea conditions and by having to make way into the Force 4 to 5 winds.
They were escorted to Blackpool Sands and handed into the care of the Coastguard Rescue team.
