Windsurfer unable to reach shore

Falmouth Coastguard tasked RNLI Dart D class lifeboat and RNLI Salcombe Tamar all weather lifeboat to a windsurfer off Beesands who appeared to be unable to return to the beach in the prevailing wind conditions. Dart lifeboat launched in eight minutes but was recalled as they reached the Lower Ferry in Dartmouth Harbour as the windsurfer had landed safely.

Visitor Centre opening hours

The shop is now open from 11am to 3pm. on Monday, Thursday and Saturday and from 11am to 1pm on Tuesday and Wednesdays. After closing on Saturday 4 December the VC will be closed until the start of half term week in Feb 2022.
