Craft: Spirit of the Dart. D-702
Saturday, 1 June 2013

A small nineteen foot yacht, motoring with three men aboard, developed a fuel line problem which caused the engine to stall. They were unable to use the boat's sails and called for assistance. The vessel Panacea took them in tow but had difficulty making headway and HMCG tasked the Dart inshore lifeboat to assist. In fact they had managed to tow them round the Mewstone when they were met by the lifeboat which took over the tow opposite Newfoundland Cove as the Panacea was running short of fuel. They were towed to the Dartmouth Yacht Club pontoon. Lifeboat crew. Buster Hart, Helmsman. Lee Darch and Darren Hopley crew. Launch crew. Pete Callis, Tractor driver. Kevin John, crew.
