Dart B Class lifeboat was requested to assist in locating a 20ft motor cruiser located, according to the owner. somewhere between Slapton Sands and Strete Gate. Once on scene, it was nowhere to be found. Then the owner called the coastguard on his mobile phone to say that he actually thought he was closer to Start Point. The Coastguard asked for some assistance from our flank station at Salcombe and whilst they were driving round, Dart ILB located the stricken vessel. Salcombe towed it as far as Slapton and then handed over the tow to Dart ILB. Vessel and owner were then safely landed at Darthaven Marina.
