Bayliner requires assistance for 2nd time in 6 hrs

Launch No: 108
Craft: Spirit of the Dart. D-702
Tuesday, 12 April 2011
Location: The Mewstone. Start Bay

HM Coastguard requested the inshore lifeboat to launch to the assistance of a 9 metre Bayliner, for the second time in the day. The craft had been brought back to Dartmouth by the inshore lifeboat five hours earlier. The owner had run the engine for an hour and was confident that the engine was servicable. He was making his passage to Torbay again when the fuel fault recurred and he was forced to anchor 100 metres from the Mewstone. The lifeboat crew towed the two sailors back to the visitors pontoon in Dartmouth Harbour. Lifeboat crew; Dave Hart Helmsman. Chris Tracey and Andy Carter crewmen. Launch crew: Jerry Gilby.
