Becalmed yacht unable to start engine

Location: 1.5 miles south west of the Mewstone. Start bay.

A 31ft yacht with two men on board, on passage from Plymouth to Brixham, became becalmed at sea and they were unable to start her engine. They contacted the Coastguard who paged the RNLI Dart Atlantic 75, B-795, Staines Whitfield. She has taken the place of B-794. B-795 was originally at RNLI Burnham on Sea until she was replaced with an Atlantic 85.
The yacht was towed to the Town Quay.

Visitor Centre opening hours

The shop is now open from 11am to 3pm. on Monday, Thursday and Saturday and from 11am to 1pm on Tuesday and Wednesdays. After closing on Saturday 4 December the VC will be closed until the start of half term week in Feb 2022.
