Capsized Catamaran from the cruise ship WindSurf

The inshore lifeboat was on exercise with the cruise ship WindSurf when they were diverted by the Coastguard to assist a capsized catamaran with one adult and one child onboard near Froward Point. Before the lifeboat arrived a safety rib from the cruise ship had assisted the catamaran and had taken it in tow. The lifeboat escorted them back to the cruise ship. The casualties were passengers from the ship and were leisure sailing whilst the ship was at anchor. Lifeboat crew. Kevin Murphy, helmsman. Haydn Glanvill, Tony Chapman and Kevin John crew. Visitor Centre opening hours

The shop is now open from 11am to 3pm. on Monday, Thursday and Saturday and from 11am to 1pm on Tuesday and Wednesdays. After closing on Saturday 4 December the VC will be closed until the start of half term week in Feb 2022.
