Casualty with back injury stretchered ashore

Location: River Dart. North of the Dart Marina.

A lady on the 60ft. sailing barge, Klevia, had slipped on the wet deck and fallen, injuring her back and head. The Coast Guard tasked the inshore lifeboat to transfer the duty Ambulance Paramedic, who was also a member of the Dart RNLI lifeboat crew, to the scene. The casualty was given pain relief, immobilised and transferred by stretcher to an Ambulance at the Higher Ferry slip on the Kingswear side. Lifeboat crew; Kevin Murphy, Helmsman. Darren Hopley and Yorkie Lomax crewmen. Haydn Glanvil paramedic. Shorecrew; Peter Fleming, Dai Richards and Al Duffy.

Visitor Centre opening hours

The shop is now open from 11am to 3pm. on Monday, Thursday and Saturday and from 11am to 1pm on Tuesday and Wednesdays. After closing on Saturday 4 December the VC will be closed until the start of half term week in Feb 2022.
