Cry for help heard in vicinity of the Dart Marina

Launch No: 268
Craft: Spirit of the Dart. D-702
Sunday, 28 August 2016
Location: Dart Marina. Dartmouth Harbour

A Ministry of Defence security guard at Sandquay thought they heard a cry for help coming from the direction of the Dart Marina. They passed the message on to the Dartmouth Coastguard team who were dealing with a separate incident close by. The RNLI Dart lifeboat was tasked to search the Dart Marina and Sandquay pontoons. The search was negative and none of those on the craft in the marina had heard the cry. After nearly an hour of searching in the dark the crew was stood down.
