Launches
A visiting yachtsman reported to the Coastguard that there was a swimmer in the water at Dittisham who was getting quite far from the boat that he had set out from and was being carried upstream by the tide. The lifeboat volunteers launched quickly and found a yacht with a party of young men with a RIB alongside it between the pontoon at Dittisham and the Greenway jetty. It was soon established that the swimmer was safely back onboard the RIB. The party apologised that they had caused the volunteers to be called out. The yachtsman who had initiated the call was also visited and had clearly been quite concerned at the time.
