A lady was taken ill on a 35 foot motor cruiser off the Mewstone. The Coastguard was alerted by a Pan pan distress call and the RNLI Dart D class inshore lifeboat was diverted to attend. The lifeboat crew were on exercise up the River Dart at Duncannon. The lifeboat met the motor cruiser at the visitor’s pontoon at Darthaven Marina. The casualty was given oxygen and assessed by a casualty care trained crewmember. The Dartmouth Coastguard SAR team arranged to meet the casualty at the low water landing on the Dartmouth side where the Ambulance was positioned. She was taken across the river in the lifeboat. Later, after assessment by the ambulance crew, she was able to return to her boat.
