Motor cruiser aground at Berry Rocks nr Totnes

A 24 ft motor cruiser motoring up to Totnes with 2 adults and a child on board struck an object and sheared their propeller, losing all steerage. The boat was carried by the tide and went aground on the western bank of the Dart approx 8.5 miles from the lifeboat station. The lifeboat dragged the vessel into deeper water and took them on a long tow to Baltic Wharf, Totnes. Lifeboat crew; Kevin Murphy Helmsman. Haydn Glanvill & Chris Rampling crew. Launch crew; Monty Halls Tractor. (His first as Tractor driver since joining the team) Pete Callis & Jerry Gilby.

Visitor Centre opening hours

The shop is now open from 11am to 3pm. on Monday, Thursday and Saturday and from 11am to 1pm on Tuesday and Wednesdays. After closing on Saturday 4 December the VC will be closed until the start of half term week in Feb 2022.
